I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. My thesis, supervised by Prof. Francesco Braghin and Prof. Marta Gandolla, focuses on hierarchical active inference for collaborative robotic assistance. My research aims to design intelligent assistive systems by blending generative AI, active inference, and intention detection.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned my M.Sc. in Robotics and B.Sc. in Micro-Engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). During my master’s, I conducted research at NearLab (Polimi) supervised by Prof. Silvestro Micera and Prof. Emilia Ambrosini, where I designed a cable-driven soft elbow exosuit for neuromuscular assistance and developed intention detection algorithms based on EMG signals.

My current R&D work focuses on two main areas:

  • Developing active inference agents for human-robot shared control during cooperative load-lifting tasks.
  • Engineering silicone-based soft actuators for upper-limb rehabilitation, including the development of mechanical testbenches and real-time 3D proprioception systems.

My technical background is heavily rooted in embedded systems and control. I previously worked as an Embedded Software Engineer Intern at Logitech, developing C firmware for tight time synchronization across wireless devices. I regularly develop pipelines and simulations using C, C++, Rust, and Python, alongside engineering platforms like SOFA, FreeCAD, and KiCAD.

Beyond research, I am deeply committed to education. I currently co-supervise master’s thesis students at Polimi and teach Healthcare Robotics laboratories for Humanitas University. Previously, I served as a tutor for numerous courses at EPFL, mentoring students in image processing, logical systems, and electronics.
